Frequently asked questions
What is not removed?
The visible page content, text hidden under black boxes (use Redact PDF for that), and text inside images. Bookmarks and accessibility tags are not carried over, and content in hidden layers becomes visible.
Does it work on password-protected PDFs?
PDFs with only permission restrictions (no password to open) work, and the clean copy is saved unencrypted. PDFs that need a password to open must be unlocked first.
Are form fields kept?
By default yes: fields and their values are kept and still fillable. Turn on 'Flatten form fields' to turn the values into plain page content.
