Is my photo uploaded?
No. The photo is opened, cropped, cut out and exported inside your browser. The face-detection and background models are downloaded once and then run on your device.
Will the passport office accept it?
The editor gets the geometry right: frame size, head height, eye line and background colour. Acceptance also depends on things software cannot check - focus, lighting on the face, a neutral expression - so read the rules on the country page before you submit.
Does the background removal change my face?
No. It only decides which pixels are you and which are the wall, then puts the wall colour the document asks for behind you. The face itself is not retouched.
Can I use my phone?
Yes. The editor works in mobile browsers and can open the front camera directly. Stand about 1.5 metres from the camera to avoid a wide-angle nose.
What do I download?
