pdfwithlove does what iLovePDF does - merge, split, compress, convert, sign, watermark, OCR - with one architectural difference that changes everything downstream: your file is never uploaded. Every tool runs inside your browser tab using WebAssembly, so the document you are working on stays on your own machine from start to finish. No account, no daily task limit, no watermark on the output.

|---|---|---|
| Where your file is processed | Uploaded over the network and processed on their servers | ✓ Processed in your browser tab - the file never leaves your device |
| Daily task limit | Free use is metered - past the cap you wait or upgrade | ✓ None. There is no server doing the work, so there is nothing to meter |
| Account required | Needed for the full tool set and to lift free-tier metering | ✓ Never - there is no sign-up, no email, and no login on the site |
| File size ceiling | Capped, because every file has to travel to their servers | ✓ Bounded only by your own device memory - nothing is transferred |
| Watermarks on output | Some outputs and tiers carry branding | ✓ Never - the file you download is the file the tool produced |
| Works offline | No - every task is a round trip to their servers | ✓ Yes - once the page has loaded, most tools keep working with no connection |
| Handling of confidential documents | Files are held on their servers and deleted on a retention timer | ✓ Nothing to retain - close the tab and the document is gone from memory |
| Desktop and mobile apps | Native desktop and mobile apps available | Android app on Google Play; the web app works on any modern browser |
This is the whole point. Contracts, medical records, payslips, passports and signed agreements are exactly the documents people put through a PDF tool, and exactly the documents that should not be uploaded to a third party. pdfwithlove reads the file into browser memory, works on it there with WebAssembly, and hands it straight back as a download.
Free tiers on cloud PDF services are capped because each task costs the provider server time. pdfwithlove has no server in the loop, so the concept of a daily limit does not apply. Process one file or four hundred - it costs the same to run, which is nothing.
There is no sign-up form, no email capture and no login on the site. You open a tool and use it. Nothing about you is collected because there is no account to attach it to.
Once a tool page has loaded, the engine is in your browser. Losing the connection does not stop a merge or a compression, because there was never a round trip involved.
Where iLovePDF still wins: if you need a hosted workflow with team seats, cloud storage integrations and files that follow you between devices, a server-side service is the right shape for that and pdfwithlove is not trying to be it. pdfwithlove is for the case where the document is confidential, the connection is bad, or the free tier ran out.
